Lies, Lies and Lies

It's amazing. A lawyer can just throw together a lawsuit, ignore facts at hand, and make up any old story to generate headlines, and the City will roll over and payout! It's like a slot machine and lawyers never lose:
  • The family of a man fatally shot by Chicago Police last month on the West Side is suing the city for inadequately training its officers and using excessive force.

Sylvia Davis, on behalf of Tyrone Dandridge, is suing the city of Chicago after Dandridge was shot inside his brother's residence at 145 N. Bell Ave. on Sept. 19. The officer who fired the shot was not named as a defendant.
Gee, why would that be do you suppose?
  • Following the shooting, Independent Police Review Authority spokesman Mark Payne said when officers arrived they saw the man who was shot by an officer stabbing somebody. The officers ordered the attacker to stop and one of the officers shot him when he refused.

The suit did not make any mention of the stabbing.
Of course not. Why mention the stabbing when that would be tantamount to admitting the officer acted within Use of Force guidelines, Chicago Police Department policy, State Law and pretty much any justifiable Deadly Force application.

How about the head of the Department get out in front of the cameras and use a little of that razzle-dazzle he learned over at FBI school and maybe back us up in public? You know, like he promised to do if we we're "100% in the right"?

Sgt Dick Inmyessofagus here. Just wanted to give a shout out to all the new MSF'ers coming over to Homan Square. I'm really a great funny guy, if you don't believe me, just ask. I'll tell you great stories of all the arrests the guys I worked with made while I wrote false temp plate arrests all day. Just make sure you ask by noon cuz I gotta sneak out early and go drive a truck for my cousin while I'm duckin early and still on the clock. Who knows maybe this Obama detail will get me another meritorious promotion. Then I can get an ear job to go along with the hair plugs I got for my last promotion!!

Any bets on this one?

I was just watching Chicago Tonight and a citizen of the 1300 block of Kolin was asked whether he saw the now famous white suburban on his block over the weekend. He was adamant that the suburban was just left there and that he would have noticed it otherwise. In fact, he stated "It's a surburban, a suburban, that's as big as a station wagon, but smaller." Priceless.

Our legal system in this country is the laughing stock of the entire free world! The only way to clean it up, is to require the loser to pay all court costs and fees attached to any action they initiate in court. Of course, that will never happen because then the lawyers would actually have to find a job and work for a living !!!

Speaking of police shootings:

Person shot by police in Humboldt Park

October 27, 2008 at 11:31 PM
A person was shot by police in the 800 block of North Homan Avenue at about 10:20 p.m., police said. A News Affairs officer did not know if the person was dead or alive, but she said that it did not appear that any officers were injured in the incident.

A spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said that an investigator had been dispatched to the scene, but he did not have additional details.

The Independent Police Review Authority investigates officer-involved shootings. A message left with the agency's spokesman was not immediately returned.

Lost count but I think this is the 3,872 police shooting this year.

Thank the Lord the officers are fine!

Introduction to
Paranormal Command Post

This step by step manual was designed to protect the citizens of Chicago from the evil of the underworld.

An interesting example of folk exorcism are the various remedies found in Greece and Sicily against the Vaskania or "Evil Eye." In one exceedingly arcane magical rite, the exorcist (usually an elderly woman) begins by anointing the forehead of the suffering person with olive oil, then adding some of the oil to a glass of water. If a demonic influence is present, it is believed that the oil within the water will form into the shape of an eye. If so, the exorcist then recites the appropriate prayers for the individual's deliverance.

Keep this in you F.O.P. book after the election and read from preprinted card verbatim :

"O God of gods and Lord of lords, Creator of the fiery spirits and Artificer of the invisible powers, of all things heavenly and earthly: Thou Whom no man hast seen -- nor is able to see; Thou Whom all creation fears and before Whom it trembles; Thou Who didst cast into the darkness of the abyss of Tartarus the angels who didst fall away with him who once was commander of the angelic host, who disobeyed Thee and haughtily refused to serve Thee, do Thou expel by the terror of Thy name the evil one and his legions loose upon the earth, Lucifer and those with him who fell from above. Set him to flight and command him and his demons to depart completely. Let no harm come to them who are sealed in Thine image and let those who are sealed receive dominion, 'to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.' (Saint Luke 10:19) For Thee do we hymn and magnify and with every breath do we glorify Thine all-holy name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen."

"As always, stay safe"

Besides the complete assholes they have working the phones over there who treat PO's like joe crack head on the street, the actual detective that come out have got to be the best in the city. They have been very professional, understanding and work hard for us beat guys.
They probablly don't hear it often or don't realize that we do appreciate them and i feel lucky to be in Area 1 compared to some stories i hear about the other areas. So thanks and keep up the hard work, it does not go unnoticed.

If this lawsuit is as frivolous and as baseless as you say, then the city should pursue it and not settle.

And then they should go after the shyster and recover their expenses.

Of course, the only other time the city ever went after the losing plaintiff was when the whites sued over the sergeant's exam.

Kind of off topic but ties into the liberalism thing...

I post on another forum where political debate is prevalent and this is what I had to say in response to an accusation of what I think Obama's plans for the presidency are and my opposition to Obama, liberalism and socialism:

"No, I don't think Obama would take down the democracy and it is not something that conservatives say amongst ourselves. There were some that said Bush would bring back slavery and the draft if re-elected; that didn't happen either. I'm not one to run around and scream the sky is falling, I just happen to have strong feelings regarding the issues, and "redistribution of wealth" hits my conservative and capitalist nerve.

I also know the difference between socialism and communism, and the USSR is a poor example of it anyway and it is not the first thing that comes to mind (it wasn't communism, it was Stalin-ism which was just plain old exploitation).

Socialism cannot be defined by one term, or by few words. It is a vast array of economic and social policies, which can be either conservative or radical. I don't need to look any further than our own country to see that socialist policies failed horribly. The public school system, welfare, affirmative action, social security and subsidies to businesses; all failures. Obama and the left speak of socializing health care. Ohh, I can't wait for that one; waiting in line for hours to see the doctor that the government tells me I can see, only to be told that I was standing in the wrong line. When I think of socialized medicine, I think of standing in line at the DMV; basically the government fucks up anything they get their hands on. Not to mention the problems in China and Cuba and some Arab nations. If socialism works then why would dozens of countries convert to free market societies and China adapt their market? If socialism is so successful then why have we historically seen a DECLINE in socialist governments in the last century?

Socialism looks great on paper but never works in the real world. If the government makes money off the rich but takes away their means of getting rich then where is the government going to get their wealth to redistribute? We don't have things like oil to keep our country going. Socialism hinges on everyone following the same rules, and we all know that ain't gonna happen. There will always be the "have" and "have nots". Students of sociology and criminology will know what I mean when I mention hedonism and liberalism. The more liberals inject liberalism into society, the less likely a utopia will form and isn't that what socialism is all about? How can narcissistic/hedonistic people work for the common good? What incentive does socialism give the workers when you can do absolutely nothing and still benefit from the system? Gasp.. does the welfare system ring a bell? Why work if you don't have to...

Ironically, when opponents of capitalism think of the current system they see greed and despair, when in reality true capitalists and conservatives devote their lives to something greater than themselves."

The lawyers are going to the Flint Taylor school of "lying to make a buck".

I observed the show at the Federal Building yesterday and it was sickening!

Flint had his mob and those speaking apparently want a payday as the four who previously made millions were not present. That Darrel Cannon settled his lawsuit years ag for a paltry $90,000. and is now back in court saying it was too little and he should get millions.

Why doesn't the media report what Flint testified too, last year at 26th Street. He admitted he does a cost benefit analysis of every potential client's case and only accepts those cases that he can make a lot of money on.

Torture is NOT the complaint. The Fed/Criminal complaint is that he lied/purjury/obstructed justice in a civil suit regarding torture.

The feds may have to prove torture occured, once, and that Burge lied, once.

The lawyers have nothing to loose but their time, the offenders almost certainly did the crimes anyway, so what do they have to loose.

The suit seeks in excess of $50,000 in damages.

**************************************************

This is a xmas present of $ 5,000 dollars to the plaintiff , and a $ 10,000 to the lawyer for a case that should be tossed by the judge who will in fact say there is reasonable grounds to go forward with this mockery of tort law. And the city will make the following offers and the case will be closed. Or does the city go to trial and fight this case, 50/50 chance, because we all know that a jury is gonna give up the CITY'S DEEP pockets!!!!

And since the alleged lies were his denial of any knowledge of torture, thus implying that there was torture, the 'complaint' is alleging torture, by presuming that torture occurred, and alleging that Burge lied about being aware of it, and, thus, a participant, albeit by omission rather than a direct allegation of commission.

Lawyering at it's most essential.

I am not a jfed fan, but his press conference on the Hudson killings wasn't that bad. He shouldn't comment on the investigation or the crime scene. Nobody has been charged yet. We want the real killer to tell us what happened in that house based on the killer's own account -not the media's.

Unlike dept chf of whatever "padderson". He came right out and told the media and the world in what rooms the bodies were found and how they were killed. Thanks boss.

Wake up, read any lawsuit filed by Taylor or Loevy, It's make believe land. The court gives wide latitude of what can be put into a pleading without any factual basis. They are supposed to have duty to investigate their allegations. Yea right. Our alderman read the complaint and assume its true and then make assinine uniformed comments just like our governor did when he emptied death row. Do a littel investigation before you make judgements and you will realize that it can happen to anyone of you,

Nobody was every charged or was there proof that the alleged torture occurred, now they hjave to prove he lied about knowledge of alleged torture, they won't he will walk and the city wioll riot again. I personally love how thewy want to strip him of his pension when he has never been charged, let alone convicted of anything; so much for due process.... priceless....

The suit claims the city has a "history of failing to adequately train its officers in the use of excessive force, and respect of constitutional rights."

Truth be told

The Lawyer is right During my 26 years I have had Little or no training in Constitutional rights. Most officers have very little knowledge of our laws. we run by the seat of our pants.(luck) Our supervisors are no different.

Is training lacking? INDEED!

Yes, but please quote him in context. This line is spoken by a conspiritor explaining how to overthrow the government.

My two cents--weren't there some lawyers who helped Mike Mette a little bit? And SCC is loaded with blogs by POs advising to "sue the city." So where are we gonna find a lawyer if they are all dead?

No need to worry.

In an imperfect world, perfection is unattainable.

They will never ALL be dead.
